SEND Provision at St Philip's
At St Philip's Catholic Primary School, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive school and we value all our children as individuals. We recognise that all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), can achieve and be successful.
We offer a broad, creative and balanced curriculum which all children can access through high quality, adaptive teaching approaches. For some children, this means providing them with additional support. Our aim is for all children to feel inspired, supported and nurtured throughout their St Philip's journey.
All teachers at St Philip's are teachers of SEND, and we aim to provide all children with what they need to thrive and succeed. We ensure the children know that nothing is impossible, and that through high ambitions and resilience, they can thrive in all they do.
We follow a graduated approach in ensuring the right support is in place at the right time. We work alongside professionals, such as our Inclusion Team, in order to provide all of our children with the best education. If teachers are concerned with the level of progress children are making, the details of their concerns are recorded and additional support may be given.
As a school we provide training throughout the year for our staff to access the most up to date recommendations for children with SEND. Staff are trained in appropriate interventions to support all specific needs and enable suitable provision is in place. Staff work closely as a team in ensuring we identify need at the earliest opportunity and we provide suitable interventions for individuals or groups of children.
